The Application Process - Estate sale franchise application process

Aether works hard to make sure that new franchisees are going to be a great fit for the brand, are going to enjoy what they do and are going to have a strong chance to succeed. That’s why we follow a process to help you learn about us, and to help us learn about you, before awarding a franchise.

STEP ONE

Coordination

If it seems like we might be a good fit, we’ll send you an application form. It’s not a contract. It provides more details about you and allows us to assess whether you meet the general financial qualifications to open an Aether franchise, and it also enables us to learn more about you. By taking the time to screen franchise candidates, we can ensure that only great folks join our franchise system — people who will help keep the brand strong for everyone.

Once your application is submitted, a rep from home office will reach out to you with initial information about our franchise. During our follow-up call, we will discuss some of the intricacies of our franchise, while answering any questions you may have.

STEP TWO

Discovery & FDD

Once we’re ready, we’ll invite you to a Discovery Day at our headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. You’ll get to see and experience an Aether Estate Sale in action, will have a chance to meet with our founder, and will learn about the systems and support that help franchisees achieve the best results.

Next, we will provide our Franchise Disclosure Document. If you’ve never seen one before, you might be surprised by its length and content. This is the result of the requirements of the Federal Trade Commission. They require a lot of special content. We will walk you through all sections of the FDD and will answer your questions. You must wait two weeks before signing, and we encourage you to use this time to review the document with an accountant or an attorney who specializes in franchising.

STEP THREE

Training

If everyone agrees that we are moving forward, two weeks after Discovery Day, we’ll offer you a franchise. Once you sign up and sign our Franchise Disclosure Document, it’s time to schedule your training.

The first phase of training you on your new franchise business takes place at our home base in Indianapolis. We’ll immerse you in everything you need to know in operating a successful estate sale business, from meeting with clients, staging, prepping and pricing a home, sale conduct, post sale, advertising and back end administrative tasks. You’ll see every aspect from beginning to end. You can either choose to spend 2 consecutive weeks with us, or do it in two, 1 week periods. This is a mix of personal office instruction, and on-site at actual estate sales.

STEP Four:

Market Introduction

After you have completed home office training, we will begin local canvassing in your market. We will reach out to hundreds of realtors, funeral homes, bankruptcy attorneys, trustees and other professionals in your area to let them know about your new franchise. We will arrange face to face meetings on your behalf. We will reach out to local media outlets to possibly run stories on your new business. We will also start advertising in your area to make sure everyone knows about you!

In the second phase of your training, a rep from home office will travel to your location to run your first two sales with you. The rep will be there to guide you through the entire process again from meeting with clients to conducting the sale, to be sure that you absorb every detail of the Aether method to ensure continued success for your franchise
